FAQ
How does it work to rent an apartment with you?
In short, we start by understanding your housing needs and preferences and try to match you with the most suitable apartment we have available. Once you decide to proceed, we sign a rental agreement to reserve the apartment for you. Before you move in we will contact you again with all the information you need for your check-in.
Our aim is to make the process straightforward, transparent and easy to navigate. We believe it is important that you know who you are renting from, what to expect during your stay and where to turn if questions arise.
You can read more details about the renting process at the “Renting with Us” page.
What is included in the rent?
The rent includes a fully furnished apartment, interior furnishings, bed linen and towels, kitchen equipment, cleaning equipment, basic household essentials upon arrival, and all utilities such as heating, hot water, electricity and internet.
We aim to keep things simple by offering one fixed monthly rent with no hidden costs or unexpected fees.
You can read more about what is included at the “Renting with Us” page.
How does rental payments work?
Rent is paid monthly in advance.
The first payment is due on the first day of your rental agreement, and thereafter rent is paid monthly throughout your stay.
Payment details can be found in the rental agreement once you have reserved an apartment with us.
We also accept international bank transfers for instance through Revolut and Wise.
I have a planned stay in Linköping for a shorter visit, can I still rent with you?
Our focus is on longer stays, and for that reason we are unfortunately not able to accommodate any short-term housing requests.
If you are unsure whether your planned stay would be considered short-term, feel free to get in touch. We are always happy to discuss your plans and advise on whether we might be a suitable option.
What is included in a fully furnished apartment?
All our apartments are fully furnished and equipped for everyday living.
This includes furniture, kitchen equipment for cooking and dining, cleaning equipment, and practical household items such as an iron and ironing board. Some apartments also feature dishwashers.
Bed linen and towels are included, and upon arrival you will find a small selection of basic household essentials to help you settle in comfortably from start.
If you have any questions about specific items or furnishings, just let us know once in the renting process and we will assist you from there.
Do you have laundry facilities?
Yes. Both buildings have shared, bookable laundry rooms that can be used privately during your booked time slot.
The laundry rooms are equipped with washing machines, dryers and space for hang drying your laundry.
Do you allow pets?
Unfortunately, no.
We aim to keep the apartments as allergy-friendly as possible and also want to minimize wear on furniture and interiors. Even though we love animals, pets are therefore not allowed in the apartments.
What are your move-out requirements?
Before your move-out date, we will provide practical information about the move-out process and any requirements related to your departure.
Further details can be found in your rental agreement.
Can I extend my stay?
In most cases, yes.
We understand that plans can change. Research projects get extended, assignments end earlier than expected and new opportunities arise.
Extensions are always subject to apartment availability and cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate changing plans whenever possible.
What happens if something inside the apartment breaks?
We understand that accidents can happen.
Normal wear and tear is a natural part of living in an apartment and is not something we charge for. However, damage beyond normal wear and tear may be charged to the guest.
We always aim to provide clean and well-maintained apartments. Any known issues that have not yet been resolved will be communicated in advance. We also ask guests to review the apartment upon arrival and let us know if anything seems incorrect or requires attention.
Further information can be found in the move-in information provided before your stay.
Still have a question?
If there is anything you are unsure about, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to answer questions and help you understand your options.
Do you offer nightly rates?
No. We are not a hotel and only offer long-term rentals by calendar month.
If you move in or out during the middle of a month, the full monthly rent still applies.
I do not have a Swedish residency yet — can I still rent an apartment?
Yes, absolutely.
You do not need a Swedish personal identity number, Swedish residency or a registered address in Sweden to rent an apartment with us or sign a rental agreement.
Many of our guests arrange their accommodation before arriving in Sweden, and if you are unsure about how it works we are happy to guide you through the process.
What is your notice period?
Our standard notice period is one calendar month.
We offer a shorter notice period than many traditional rental agreements, giving our guests greater flexibility if plans change during their stay.
Further details can be found in your rental agreement.
Who owns and manages the apartments and properties?
Hemma Apartments is a owned by a local private landlord.
We own and manage the properties ourselves with help of local property management actors, which means you communicate directly with the people responsible for your accommodation. We are happy to assist in both English and Swedish.
As many of our guests come from abroad, our website and guest information are provided primarily in English for the moment.
Can I make changes in the apartment, or rent without furniture?
Our apartments are rented fully furnished and are intended to be used as they are provided.
You are welcome to rearrange furniture if needed, provided that everything is returned to its original place before move-out. However, furniture may not be removed from the apartment or placed in storage without prior approval from us.
Please note that drilling, painting, mounting fixtures or making other alterations to the apartment is not permitted without our prior consent.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, simply ask and we will be happy to advise.
